(*)We use meteorologic data from our meteorological station in Destnice near Saaz. 30-years average (1981 – 2010) according to Czech Hydrometeorological Institute is being used as long-term average. (Up to 2016 the 1961 – 1990 average has been used.)

Comment:

Compared to the long-term average July was markedly substandard as to the temperatute and dramatically above-average as to the precipitation. It is true of comparing with the year 2010 as well. Hop plants are in phase of cone creating at major part of the area and in phase of flowering just here and there. Chemical protection against Peronospora and hop aphid went on. Health state of hops is good. According to the actual state of hop growth beginning of the harvest is expected by 20th August already. For the present it is too early to estimate the crop. Attached photo from July 29th shows the actual typical stand of hop gardens.
