(*)We use meteorologic data from our meteorological station in Destnice near Saaz. 30-years average (1981 – 2010) according to Czech Hydrometeorological Institute is being used as long-term average. (Up to 2016 the 1961 – 1990 average has been used.)

Comment:

Compared to long-term average June was slightly substandard as to the temperature and markedly substandard as to the precipitation. Precipitation varied in respective localities (local storms). May was substandard as to the precipitation as well and the lack of rainfall negatively influenced the hop growth. In late May just 80 % of hop gardens reached 7 m high (top of the trellis). Habitus is weaker compared with last year. Chemical protection against Peronospora, Hop aphids and Red spider mite was made in majority of hop gardens. The health state of hops is good. Attached photo from June 29th shows the present stand of hop garden which did not reach 7 m high.
