(*)We use meteorologic data from our meteorological station in Destnice near Saaz. 30-years average (1981 – 2010) according to Czech Hydrometeorological Institute is being used as long-term average. (Up to 2016 the 1961 – 1990 average has been used.)


Comment:

In comparison with the long-tem average June was above the average for both temperatures and precipitations. Such conditions accelerated the hop growth and delay from the last months has been settled hereby. Just 20 % of hop plants did not reach the top of the trellis (7 m height). Lot of precipitations and higher temperatures suit the spread of Peronospora so the chemical protection in June was headed against this disease especially. At the beg. of June the migration of Hop Aphids from winter host plants to hops was monitored. The chemical treatment against Aphids started as well. The health state of hops is good. On June 30th Saaz area was hit by storm with local hails. There was no hop damage in the hop gardens of Top Hop group. The attached picture taken on 29st June shows the actual state in most of the hop gardens.
