(*)We use meteorologic data from our meteorological station in Destnice near Saaz. 30-years average (1981 – 2010) according to Czech Hydrometeorological Institute is being used as long-term average. (Up to 2016 the 1961 – 1990 average has been used.)


Comment:

To complete information we mention basic data for March. The average month temperature was 3,6 oC (long-term average 3,6 oC as well) and precipitation 22,4 mm. March was average as to the temperature and precipitation. Compared to the long-term average April was extraordinary as for the temperature and substandard as for the precipitation. Good wheater enabled smooth running of spring works. Hop cutting was finished on 20th April and wire stringing was finalized by the end of April. Hop plants are in sprouting phase now. During last April days hop training started sporadically. Chemical protection against Peronospora is running here and there. Attached photo from April 29th show the typical current stand of hop gardens.
