Saint Lawrence arrived at Ročov
On Saturday August 10th we celebrated Saint Lawrence, the patron of all hop growers!
Old folk tales say, that on Saint Lawrence day, it is not wise to do any field works at the hop gardens, so no one interrupts the Saint Lawrence who comes to visit the hop gardens. That is why all the hop growers gather and feast, enjoy good food and even better beer and discuss the upcoming hop harvest. This year we gathered at Ročov and we were welcomed by Saint Lawrence himself!
Zemědělské družstvo Ročov, where this event took place, has a rich tradition of hop growing and they manage 280 hectares of hop gardens in the best locations.
